The Wattbike
- What is a Wattbike?The Wattbike was created with British Cycling to provide an affordable indoor bike for training and testing that is suitable for everyone from school children to Olympic Gold Medallists. Within seconds you can be accurately measuring your power output, your pedalling technique and heart rate.
- Why we use WattbikesTEAM cycles use Wattbikes for a number of reasons. Wattbikes are accessible and easy to use by year 6 (age 10) up to Senior Citizens. With the right set up and instruction a wide cross-section of the community can engage with the activities. We find we can deliver a variety of outcomes Energy efficiency – by displaying the watts produced we can illustrate the effort required to power a light bulb (or a number of low-energy bulbs), a TV or microwave. This tangible effort makes discussions on energy efficiency very real and personal. Nutrition – by displaying the number of joules used we can illustrate the effort required to use energy that has been ingested. Children are fascinated by the relationship between effort and energy, adults are often shocked! Pedalling efficiency – by displaying the cadence and polar view we can coach improved pedalling efficiency for new, improving or experienced cyclists. This session can be combined and used as the warm-up for Energy Efficiency and/or Nutrition sessions. Head-to-head racing – What a buzz! Wattbike racing is high adrenaline, high power fun! - CharityTEAM cycles have worked with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) to deliver the Spin to Cure fundraising events. Pics TEAM cycles provided 10 Wattbikes and Audio/Visual support for JDRF’s Spin to Cure in Salisbury Guildhall Square. 30 teams of 5 riders competed to see who could ride the furthest in a set time. There was a great atmosphere and JDRF Southern region raised significant funds from the event. pics

TEAM cycles, as the UK’s Wattbike event provider, will work with you on identifying the benefits and achieving your outcomes. We can provide from 2 to 20 Wattbikes for your event. We can run activities based around competitions, or health, or general technique coaching. We have run Women-only sessions, employee sessions, general customer engagement sessions, with a variety of outcomes. We have always found that your customers are engaged by the Wattbikes and therefore your message. They stay in store longer and are more likely to spend on associated products and services. We can also deliver events using Concept 2 rowing machines instead or as part of a hybrid delivery.

What we can deliver

Wattbikes/C2 Rowers & SkiErgs

We specialise in ergometers providing accurate, reliable data. We have a fleet of Wattbike Pro’s and can also provide Concept 2 Rowers and SkiErgs.

Data and front-end

We develop custom-built software solutions that work in harmony with the industry-leading
Wattbike static bike ergometer to ensure the accuracy of data. The software solution wirelessly
gathers data from the bikes in real time and translates this to visual display(s) e.g. large
HDMI-fed screens or on mobile devices.

We’re with you all the way. From on-site full support, to remote telephone support

About TEAMevents Ltd

TEAM cycles is part of TEAMevents Ltd and are the official Wattbike Events Partner. We rent out Wattbike Pro Bike Ergometers for events. The Wattbike Ergometer Static Training Bike is used by National and Olympic squads, Professional Sports Teams, top gyms as well as informed home users across the world – this is not a ‘Spin’ bike! We also work with Concept 2 RowErgs and SkiErgs, both the Wattbike and the C2 products are accurate and provide data which we can take to create an engaging front end. We can also add data functionality to treadmills if you wish to run an indoor Tri.

Do you team members riding a physical challenge, like Lands End – John O Groats (LEJOG) or London to Paris. Want the rest of the office to get involved? Put Wattbikes in the office and we can show virtual progress against the actual ride.

Hire Wattbikes, Audio Visual, custom on-line leader-board and mapping and support personnel for your event. Hire just the bikes or engage your attendees with a package including full AV and head-to-head racing or a custom route, or leader-board for participants to ride virtually either physically co-located or across multiple sites.
